Prognosis of 141 women with pT1 breast cancer from a defined urban area was investigated. Only one of the 47 women with a primary tumor diameter less than or equal to 10 mm in diameter (pT1a or pT1b) died from breast cancer within 5 years after the diagnosis. The 5-year survival rate corrected for intercurrent deaths of the women with pT1c cancer (from 11 to 20 mm in diameter, n = 94) was 83%; 96% in pT1cN0 and 62% in pT1cN+ cancer respectively (p less than 0.0001).
ABSTRACT Background: The clinical characteristics of patients who had lymph node-negative early breast cancer were assessed. Methods: We assessed a total of 579 patients in the study, including 74 patients (12.8%) with T1a, 119 patients (20.7%) and 367 patients (63.7%) with T1c. Patients with T1 tumors were further classified into 3 groups according to hormone receptor (HR)

The primary outcome was ipsilateral axillary recurrence and survival. Results The management of pT1a-bN0M0 breast cancer remains an area of controversy. Data from 714 patients classified as having pT1a-bN0M0 breast cancer and treated, from 1999 to 2004 in the Languedoc-Roussillon France, were analyzed. The human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) status analyses were centralized. Small node–negative breast cancers measuring less than 1 cm (pT1a/bN0) are generally associated with a favorable prognosis. However, as many as 10% of these breast cancers exhibit human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 overexpression and/or amplification (HER2+). e11607 Background: Although most early-stage breast tumors have a favourable outcome, some subgroups carry a higher recurrence risk.

2021-03-30 · The definition of pT1a stage finding depends on the particular type of cancer that it refers to; for example, for breast cancer, pT1a stage finding is defined as follows: cancer with tumor size more than 0.1 cm, but not more than 0.5 cm in greatest dimension; for lung cancer, pT1a stage finding is defined as follows: cancer with a tumor size of 2 cm or less in greatest dimension, surrounded by lung or visceral pleura and without bronchoscopic evidence of invasion more proximal

Prognosis of breast cancer with small primary tumor (pT1) Prognosis of 141 women with pT1 breast cancer from a defined urban area was investigated. Only one of the 47 women with a primary tumor diameter less than or equal to 10 mm in diameter (pT1a or pT1b) died from breast cancer within 5 years after the diagnosis.
This large prospective cohort with 15-year follow-up had a very low incidence of axillary recurrences and high breast cancer-specific survival rate. Axillary surgery can safely be omitted in patients with low-grade, T1a-b, cN0 breast cancers. A rare and aggressive type of breast cancer where the cancer cells infiltrate the lymphovascular spaces within the skin dermis, causing changes in the overlying breast skin. The skin often looks swollen, thickened, dimpled, and red. Abstract Background.
Prognostic impact of interval breast cancer detection in women with pT1a N0M0 breast cancer with HER2-positive status: Results from a multicentre population-based cancer registry study. In a Finnish cancer registry study on 852 pT1a,b breast cancer patients, women with pT1a N0M0 breast cancer and histological grade 1 had excellent outcome with 10-year distant disease-free survival (DDFS) approaching to 100%. Small node–negative breast cancer, especially those <1 cm, generally carries a favorable prognosis.
